Plot:
Montage (Ji Jin Hee), who may be a muse or an angel, appears in Shanghai with a mission: he yearns for a taste of genuine human emotions and puts himself out as a beacon for lost souls, drowning in the bitter sea of love. Arriving in Shanghai at the same time is actor Lin Jiandong (Takeshi Kaneshiro), who is about to star in a new musical film helmed by the renowned director Nie Wen (Jacky Cheung). Lin's co-star, Sun Na (Zhou Xun), is an old flame from a decade ago. Sun is currently in a long-term relationship with Nie, who made her a star. When the ex-lovers meet at a press conference, Lin is hurt by Sun's indifference towards him. The musical they are in is about a love triangle: an amnesiac woman who forgets everything, even her lover, when she is saved from the streets by a generous circus owner. The two fall in love. Later when she recovers her memory, she finds herself torn between her past and present. The musical features Lin and Sun in leading roles, with the director Nie as the third part of the triangle. Nie is unaware of his two stars' previous relationship, and the analogy is reflected in the musical. As Lin and Sun spend more time with each other on the set, the nostalgic romantic memories of their past begin to overwhelm them...

Ji-yeon, a tollgate ticket girl, is frightened by a mysterious black car, which pays a bloodstained ticket fee at midnight. Her fear deepens after her colleague, Jong-sook, tells her that 12 years earlier a prisoner transport vehicle caused a traffic accident wherein all the prisoners involved died--and some of the corpses disappeared. Afterwards, a murder occurred near the tollgate on February 29th every four years. Soon, odd events become increasingly frequent, usually involving a doppelganger of Ji-yeon. When Jong-sook is killed on the fateful February 29th, Ji-yeon--with the help of two detectives--starts looking into matters herself.

Plot:
Siu Man (Miriam Yeung) is a beer promotion girl, doing the rounds of bars and getting customers to buy their drinks, but she and her partners are facing stiff competition from younger, pushier and more glamorous competitors. The girls also find customers increasingly demanding, especially those who know of Siu Man’s reputation as ‘Ms Never Gets Drunk’. On her way home from one such particularly difficult day’s work, where she has also had to fight off the advances of her brother-in-law Brother 9, she helps a drunk man get home, but he ends up staying at her house for a while. The man is Michel or Michael (Daniel Wu) – the owner of a failing French restaurant. It has always been Siu Man’s dream to open her own coffee shop, so the two of them come to an arrangement to share the restaurant. Siu Man is approaching 30 and her friends hope that there may also be romance on the horizon for her, but there are a few problems – because of previous bad experiences, Siu Man is deeply mistrustful of men who drink heavily, while Michael – only in Hong Kong as part of his travels across the world – doesn’t want to be tied down and is starting to feel it is time to be moving again.
