شايد يكي از معدود برنامه هايي باشد كه بدون آن متصل شدن به اينترنت براي من غير ممكن است و كاملاً به حضور صفحه كوچك و زيبايش در Desktop عادت كرده ام . بدون اغراق مي توانم بگويم كه وجود اين برنامه در هنگام كار با اينترنت مي تواند يك احساس رضايت , توام با اعتماد به نفس به شما بدهد . چرا اينكه با يكي از قوي ترين حس هاي بدن خود يعني بينايي قادر خواهيد بود ترافيك شبكه را به راحتي كنترل كنيد و از كم و كيف كار با اطلاع باشيد .
به تصويرمقابل دقت كنيد:

1 ـ نشان دهنده شمارهاي مقدار كيلوبايت بر ثانيه از فايل هاي دريافت شده و فايل ها يا اطلاعاتي كه از كامپيوتر شما خارج مي شود DL مخفف Download و UL مخفف Up load مي باشد .
2 ـ رنگ قرمز نشان دهنده اطلاعات Download شده به كامپيوتر شماست .
3 ـ رنگ سبز نشان دهنده اطلاعاتي است كه از كامپيوتر شما Upload يا خارج مي شود .
4 ـ رنگ نارنجي مقادير اطلاعات خارج و وارد شده است يعني در آن زمان هم اطلاعات Download و Upload شده است .
5 ـ مقاديري كه به صورت عمودي نوشته شده است نشان دهنده بالاترين مقدار منحني داخل پنجره است .

البته هر گاه روي پنجره خود برنامه كليك راست كنيد منوي مقابل ظاهر مي شود .

وقتي گزينه Options را كليك كنيد وارد تنظيمات برنامه مي شويد . كه امكانات مختلفي را براي شما فراهم مي كند
در قسمت DU meter General options شما انتخاب هاي مختلفي داريد . مثلاً با انتخاب Minimize when Idle , هنگامي كه به اينترنت متصل نيستيد پنجره برنامه از صفحه محو مي شود . بهتر است در قسمت Display mode هم گزينه Both Graphical & Numeric را علامت بزنيد تا در هنگام كار هم به صورت گرافيكي , نمودار تغييرات ترافيك موجود را داشته باشيد و هم عددي .
شما مي توانيد در قسمت Display Units واحد حجم اطلاعات را هم انتخاب كنيد . گزينه Abbreviate numeric display labels هم اگر علامت دار بكنيد باعث مي شود تا وقتي پنجره برنامه DU شما كوچك شد خط اعلان KB/sec حذف نشود و به صورت K در آيد .
براي اينكه هميشه برنامه در دسترس بوده و احتياج به اجراي مجدد آن نداشته باشيد علامت گزينه Load with windows را بر نداريد . با گزينه Network interface to monitor كاري نداشته باشيد و در حالت All Interfaces آن را رها كنيد . در صورتي كه به جاي اتصال به اينترنت داراي يك شبكه خانگي و يا در محل كار خود داراي شبكه باشيد , مي توانيد گزينه PPP Adaptor را انتخاب كنيد .
گزينه Semi-transparent window نيز فقط در windows 2000 & XP فعال مي شود . خاصيت اين قسمت اين است كه شما مي توانيد شفافيت برنامه را در روي ميز كار خود تغيير دهيد . يعني برنامه به صورت شيشه عمل مي كند و از روي آن برنامه هاي پشت پنجره نمايان است و مزاحمتي در حين كار ايجاد نمي كند . اين گزينه در Windows 9x or NT 4.0 غير فعال و خاموش است .
قسمت Graph options : در اين قسمت هم گزينه هاي جالبي قرار دارد . مثلاً Vertical grid lines كه شما مي توانيد مدت زمان فركانس را از 10 ـ 2 ـ 3ـ ثانيه تا 1 دقيقه تغيير دهيد . در اين صورت خطوط عمودي بر روي پنجره ظاهر مي شود كه نشان دهنده مدت زمان تعيين شده است . هم چنين شما بهتر است تا Maximum graph value را روي Show both line and Label تنظيم كنيد . و گزينه Connection type را روي Resize graph automaticall قرار دهيد .

در قسمت Graph colors شما مي توانيد رنگ قسمت هاي مختلف پنجره برنامه را به ميل خود تغيير دهيد .
گزينه هاي DU Meter Alerts and Reports نيز براي گزارش گيري بسيار مفيد و جالب هستند . شما مي توانيد در قسمت Periods configuration دور هاي ماهانه يا هفتگي را انتخاب كنيد تا در يكم روز خاص به شما گزارش از ميزان كاركرد شما بدهد .
گزينه Traffic volume alert نيز اگر صحيح تنظيم شود مي تواند بسيار مفيد باشد . به اين صورت كه وقتي مقدار حجم Download شده در مدت تنظيم شده به آن مقدار معيين برسد برنامه به شما هشدار مي دهد .
براي مثال، اگر شما حد را به 6 گيگا بيت در ماه قرار بدهيد و دوره* ماهانه را روي اول ماه شروع *كنيد و حالا 15ام است و شما dedaolnwod 2/3 گيگا بيت انجام داده ايد قبلاً، (UD ) شما را هوشيار خواهد كرد كه اگر شما به اين صورت ادامه بدهيد از مقدار 6 گيگابيت در پايان ماه فراتر خواهيد رفت . و اين براي آگاهي يافتن شما و صرفه جويي بسيار مهم و مفيد است .

قسمت Notification condition نيز در حالت عادي غير فعال هست . شما مي توانيد آن را نيز فعال كنيد ولي بايد انتظار باز شدن پنجره ها و يا بوقهاي خطر را هر از گاهي داشته باشيد . چون خاصيت اين قسمت همين است . با توجه به قطع مكرر خطوط اينترنتي ما در هنگام كار و اتفاقاتي از اين قبل كه براي ما به صورت عادي و قابل تحملي در آمده شايد هيچ گونه نيازي به فعال كردن اين قسمت نباشد .
وقتي روي آيكن DU كليك راست مي كنيد , مي توانيد Total را زده و وارد DU Meter Totals and Reports شويد در اين قسمت گزارشات كاملي از مقدار كار كرد شما در ماه و هفته و روز دريافت مي كنيد .
همچنين مي توانيد با زدن كليد Export يك خروجي خوب و تميز به صورتي يكي از فرمت هاي (XLS), Microsoft Word (RTF), HTML, Plain Text (TXT), Comma Separated Values (CSV), Data Interchange File Format (DIF) or Symbolic Links Format (SLK)

اين برنامه قابليت پيدا كردن پسورد فايلهاي ZIP-RAR-ACE-ARJ را دارد.
در صورت استفاده صحيح مي‌توان پسورد اكثر فايلها را در مدت زمان كمتري به دست آورد.
جهت جستجوي پسورد فايلها از طريق ديكشنري برنامه مراحل زير را انجام دهيد:

- فايل موردنظر را از قسمت Encrypted ZIP/RAR/ACE/ARJ انتخاب نماييد.
- از قسمت Type of attack گزينه Dictionary را انتخاب نماييد.
- از بين 7 كاربرگي كه بصورت سطري در كنار هم قرار دارند كاربرگ Dictionary راانتخاب نماييد.
- از قسمت Dictionary file path فايل ديكشنري كه حاوي پسوردهاي دلخواه هست را انتخاب نماييد(يك نمونه را در پايين قرار مي‌دهم)
- در قسمت Start line مي‌توانيم شماره سطري از فايل ديكشنري كه مي‌خواهيم جستجوي پسوردها از آن قسمت شروع شود را مي‌نويسيم(براي جستجوي تمام پسوردهاي داخل فايل ديكشنري، اين قسمت را پاك كنيد)
- گزينه Start را از قسمت بالا انتخاب نماييد تا جستجو شروع شود.(در صورت پيدا شدن، پسورد در كادر ديگري اعلام خواهد شد)

چند نكته:
- هر قدر تعداد پسوردهاي داخل فايل ديكشنري كم باشد پسورد موردنظر سريعتر پيدا خواهد شد.
- جستجوي پسوردها بصورت سطر به سطر انجام مي‌گيرد و پسوردهايي كه در سطرهاي ابتدايي فايل ديكشنري قرار دارند زودتر جستجو خواهند شد(پسوردهايي را كه بيشتر مورد استفاده دارند در ابتداي فايل قرار دهيد)
- اكثر پسوردها بصورت اسم سايتها مي‌باشند(در فايل ديكشنري ضميمه شده از اسم سايتها استفاده شده است)
