"Seriously, in Aug., 2001, average disk transfer rates were around 30 MB/s, with the max rate (i.e. rate at the outside of the plater) at around 40-43 MB/s.
In Aug., 2002, that max rate was 49 MB/s (a 14% increase).
In Aug., 2003, that rate was 60 MB/s (a 22% increase).
In Aug, 2004, that max rate was STILL about 60 MB/s (a 0% increase in speed,
but by October, it is now 65 MB/s, (which is an 8% speed increase). You can also note that over this same time frame we went from ATA/66 to SATA 1 (or from a bus that could support 66MB/s to a bus that can support 150 MB/s).
If you will please note, the FASTEST 7200 RPM harddrive available TODAY can STILL not overload an ATA/66 bus specs!!!"

Simply this means: ATA100, ATA133, SATA1, SATA2, it doesn't matter which one it is! The only way to know which brand is the fastest is to check a review like Tom's Hardware or Anandtech and see which drive does the best random access, average read speed, and average write speed.
Hard drives average 30-50 MB/s, SATA2's "300 MB/s" means if we could get the mechanical drives to actually spin fast enough and the heads to be quick enough, then they would reach it. But right now they only reach ATA66. Of course though SATA is better than IDE, the cables are smaller, the cables can go up to a yard in length, NCQ support makes them "smarter", and newer drives are only using that interface anyways.
Don't worry about SATA1 or 2 or 3, yes a 3 is planned, just look at the drive's performance.
So a hard drive labelled SATA3 or SATA2 would work exactly the same when plugged into a motherboard only labelled as SATA1.
This is similiar to using AGP 8x vs 4x, twice the bandwidth, yet 8x cards work the same when forced to run at 4x. Also with PCI-E, 16x cards forces to 4x work exactly the same."

با سلام
می خواستم برای کامپیوترم که مادر بردش فقط 160 گیگا بایت هارد رو پشتیبانی می کنه هارد بخرم. از اساتید می خواستم بپرسم که دوتا هارد 80 بخرم بهتره یا یک هارد 160 . در ضمن فقط ATA یاهمون IDE رو پشتیبانی می کنه . و پاورم هم 350 هستش.
ممنون می شم اگر دوستان پاسخ دهند.

هارد های werstern digital raptor 10K رو از کجا می شه با گارانتی معتبر گیر اوورد؟
گاراتنی هاردهای western برای سازگار ارقامه ولی raptor رو تو سایتش نداشت.

گاراتنی هاردهای western برای سازگار ارقامه ولی raptor رو تو سایتش نداشت.

من ميخوام يك هارد ساتا 2 بگيرم.به نظرم اين مدل وسترن بد نباشه.200 گيگ و 8مگ بافر و قيمت حدود 105.
توي سايتش هيچ چيزي راجع به داشتن NCQ و يا سنسور درجه ننوشته.اينها را از كجا ميشه چك كرد؟

ساتا 2 وسترن با 16 مگ بافر چنده و چه مدلهاييش توي بازار هست؟

ميخوام هارد 300 گيگ ساتا بخرم.دو گزينه مكستور و سيگيت وجود داره.خودم ميخوام مكستور بخرم ولي 300 گيگ همه چيني هستند .
در ضمن اين هفته اعلام شد كه سيگيت مكستور را خريد يعني تا 6 ماه ديگه هارد مكستور در بازار وجود نداره.

به نظر شما سيگيت بخرم بهتر نيست؟ كسي ميتونه اين دو را با هم مقايسه كنه؟

چرا نخوره فقط سرعتش به 150 محدود ميشه که فعلا فقط کش hard ميتوته
بيشتر از 150 ريد و رايت داشته باشه که تأثير زيادی نداره.

بنظر من بهتره روی 500 گیگی هیتاچی سرمایه گذاری کرد که مختصات خوبی هم داره به نسبت قیمتش..نمی دانم در تهران هست یا نه؟!چینی پینی هم نیستش..البته فعلا!!
