Nah, I don't play anything. And right now, I regret it more than anything. But if I'm gonna pick an instument some day, it's either gonna be the electric guitar or the harmonica. l
BTW, where is this Madjid Fahem originally from? The name sounds pretty middle eastern but he's seemingly of Hispanic origins! l

If i remember correctly Madjid is from Paris with roots from Algeria, so not Hispanic but he plays Latin-style and his band is most famous in Latin speaking countries.

i try to decide myself and act the best i can do in situation
bcoz nobody is in same position with me
so i can not mimic anyone

Its so typical eastern and let's say Iranian to have a so-called" sample person" i assume
kind a way of running away from our own responsibilities
and another excuse for thinking less

I beg to differ. There's been a trend these past few decades that people adopt idols, such as Shariati's sects, and so on and so forth. You rarely see individualism, it's mostly that people follow the ideas, set someone as an example, etc.

Only recently you see a different trend, and even at young people's cases, idols have shifted toward more modern figures, but they still have to follow something or someone.

I only meant that the case ain't much different in Iran than any other country. And I was talking about living your life based on someone else's, NOT being affected by inspirations, ideas and beliefs. In that case, ain't individualism just another sect formed around the ideas of some of these so called "samples"?! l
Yea, I know Shariati, Chamran, etc fanatics who know their words by heart. But what effect does this have on their daily lives? Nothing, I would say. I personally find it more of an obsession with reading, a mere strive to find a way of life, or even a mean to show off. l

thanks for the tip about the documentary , i'm downloading it now. Am actually reading a lot about Iran now, people are really positive about Iranian people, they write things like "redefine hospitality" l

Individualism is to be yourself, to inspire, rather than being inspired, not that per se being inspired is always a bad thing, but if you are yourself, you are unique and you're not part of a sect.

As how much idols affect people's lives, I can't make any assumptions, but I merely say that here for example, compared to the US, it is not only more custom to claim following someone's footsteps -- regardless of the truthfulness of such claim -- but also it's encouraged to do so. Preferably you are to adopt a holy figure and that should be a good enough pattern to follow, whether you merely claim, or you actually do so.
