Here's a guide to create to create MP4 videos that most probably many of you Moto users already know but hopefully this guide will help noobs to convert video for mobile phones.
Tools Required:
Super Video Converter -

Mirror1
Mirror2

Here is a screenshot of the program.
I will only cover the options in elliptical red so the rests are for you to experiment with it.
1. Select the Output Container : mp4 (MPEG-4)
2. Select the Video Output Codec : H.263
3. Select the Audio Output Codec : AAC
4. In the "internal encoders are auto-selected to complete this operation" : ffmpeg
5. Use DirectShow - Uncheck
6. Video Column
6a. Video Scale Size - 176x144 (if you choose other video output codec that shows bigger resolution than 176x144, your mobile phone won't play and will give the unidentified file format error message)
6b. Aspect - 11:9 (the aspect ratio is auto-set based on the chosen video scale size)
6c. Frame/Sec - 25
6d. Bitrate kbps - 128 (I've only got 128mb TFlash card so choosing this option will be optimum for me. Choosing 192kbps will be best video quality for our mobile cause anything higher than 256kbps or 300kbps, audio & video combined, your mobile phone won't play. I think)
6e. Options - Hi Quality Checked
7. Audio Column (for mono audio playback)
7a. Sampling Freq - 22050
7b. Channels - 1 (2 = Stereo)
7c. Bitrate kbps - 32 (64 and above = Stereo)
8. Drag and drop your video file into the encode window or right-click at it and select add multimedia file(s).
9. Click Encode now
Before I used SUPER, Nero Recode 2 was my favourite cause you can crop, trim and preview the video in a very nice GUI. No matter how I encode the video from the lousiest to the best quality, my V3x will start to have video lag at the 2:45 minute and it got worst after that. I've also tried other mp4 converters but all gave the same results.
For SUPER Video Converter, noticed why the "Video Output Codec" I chose was H.263 instead of MPEG-4? Through my understanding, H.263 is a 3GP container codec and 3GP video format does not lag within my V3x. MPEG-4 is also a container for AVI video format and natively, it uses H.264 with AVC audio codec, just like the Playstation Portable. So in Motorola official website, they claimed that V3x plays MP4 videos but they never mentioned the exact video codec it uses, so choosing H.263 was just a theory of mine to avoid my video problem. One thing I did notice was the quality differs when choosing H.263 and MPEG-4 in the Video Output Codec but it is definitely better than 3GP format.
Video Experts, please correct me anytime if I'm wrong in my statement.
Hope this guide helps.
