MANCHESTER - David Suazo scored twice and Zlatan Ibrahimovic once as an impressive Inter beat Manchester United 3-2 in Wednesday's prestige friendly.
The Honduran forward and his Swedish strike partner notched in a thirteen-minute scoring spree at Old Trafford after Wayne Rooney's opening goal for the Red Devils. Adriano turned into his own net after the restart.
Stankovic, Maxwell and Ibrahimovic were back in action for the Nerazzurri as Roberto Mancini fielded his strongest team of the England tour so far. Chivu started at left-back for the second game running with Suazo continuing up front.
United, playing their penultimate test of the pre-season before Sunday's Community Shield clash with Chelsea, edged ahead in the 18th minute when Rooney fired Evra's assist past Julio Cesar. But Italian champions Inter, wearing their new home kit for the first time, were soon level. Suazo converted a Figo cross from close range on 21 minutes to make it two goals in as many games after his headed effort against Arsenal at the weekend.
Six minutes later, Figo and Stankovic combined down the left wing, with the latter crossing for Ibrahimovic who crashed an unstoppable volley past van der Sar for Inter's second.
The goals kept coming and Suazo grabbed his second on 34 minutes. Once again, Luis Figo was at the heart of the move. Collecting an Ibrahimovic pass, the Portuguese veteran swiftly fed Suazo who fired home.
Rooney was unlucky not to reduce the arrears before half time, his finish from a sweeping one-touch move shaving the top of the crossbar.
Adriano, on for Suazo in the second half, unwittingly completed the scoring on 58 minutes when his attempted clearance from Cristiano Ronaldo's free kick ended up in his own net.
Rio Ferdinand wasted United's best chance of a reply, blazing over from close range with nine minutes remaining.
Inter's tour of England concludes on Saturday with a match against Aston Villa in Birmingham.
